  • Glendale Arts is a private nonprofit organization, charged with managing the Alex Theatre and coordinating resources that are designed to benefit Glendale-based artists, arts organizations, businesses, government agencies, and local schools. Established in July 2008, Glendale Arts is the culmination of a community-wide arts assessment that included input from Alex Regional Theatre Board and staff, and City and community leaders.

Vision
Glendale Arts believes that a great city is defined by its arts. We envision a supportive environment that encourages and values all artistic disciplines and believe that the arts are an essential ingredient for a vibrant, creative, and economically healthy community.

Mission
The mission of Glendale Arts is to preserve and operate the historic Alex Theatre as a performing arts and entertainment center, to provide resources to foster and strengthen the capacity of artists and arts organizations, and to improve the economic vitality and quality of life of the community by offering programs of cultural and educational value.

Glendale Arts will fulfill its mission by:
  • Enhancing the financial wellbeing of the Alex Theatre.
  • Integrating the arts into Glendale's identity as a community.
  • Promoting a wide range of programs and activities, including workshops, concerts, lectures, exhibits, readings, performances, and marketplaces.
  • Developing support of the arts among financial stakeholders including donors, foundations, local businesses, corporate sponsors, educators, government agencies, and residents.
  • Providing management, fundraising, box office, production, marketing, and administrative technical support services to artists and nonprofit arts organizations.
  • Promoting the collaboration of artists and arts organizations to make the most of scarce resources for the arts.
  • Partnering with Glendale area educational institutions to integrate the arts into student's educational experience.
  • Providing professional support services for local arts and cultural facilities.
